Gamma
AI-from-prompt presentations and documents that don't look like AI made them. The Stage 3 default for advisors who want a polished pitch deck or strategy doc without opening PowerPoint.
Best for
- Pitch decks for prospect meetings: type "a 12-slide deck on why fee-only fiduciary advice beats commissions" and Gamma generates a structured, design-coherent deck in under a minute
- Strategy memos or one-pagers for partner conversations — paste a topic + a few bullets, get a styled doc that looks like your firm produced it
- Importing existing content: drop in a PDF, Word doc, or URL and Gamma reformats it as a presentation — useful for turning your firm's whitepaper into a client-ready deck
- Quick visual responses to client questions — "show me what a Roth conversion would look like for this scenario" generates a presentation-quality summary faster than building one yourself
Avoid
- Highly-templated deliverables your firm already has a design system for — Gamma's AI design is good but not your design; if your brand requires exact spec compliance use Canva with Brand Kit
- Long-form writing where you want full control of every paragraph — Gamma is presentation-shaped; for client emails or thought-leadership posts use Claude or ChatGPT
- Real-time collaboration during client meetings — Gamma is a creation tool, not a live whiteboard. For live ideation use Miro, FigJam, or a shared Google Doc.
Shortcuts
- The 'import a PDF' feature is the under-used killer workflow — drop your existing whitepapers or research reports into Gamma and get an instant presentation version you can adapt for client use
- Custom company theme on Team/Business tiers — set your firm's colors, fonts, and logo once and every generated deck respects them; less aggressive than Canva's Brand Kit but cleaner if your needs are simple
- Studio Mode (Ultra tier) generates cinematic full-image slides — overkill for routine work but useful when you need a visually striking deck for a board presentation or industry conference
- Use the 'card count' control to enforce length — Gamma over-generates by default; tell it explicitly 'in 8 cards' and you get a tight deck instead of 20 slides you have to trim
Model variants
Gamma runs proprietary generation models tuned for slide and document creation. You don't pick a model — Gamma routes per feature. The differentiator is the structured-output design system (cards that respect a coherent visual language) + the multi-modal input (text prompt, PDF, Word, URL), not raw model capability.
Compliance gotchas
- Gamma's auto-generated content is editorial-quality but not compliance-reviewed — every output needs your firm's review pass before client use, especially around forward-looking statements or performance projections
- AI-generated images in Studio Mode may include subtle artifacts — review every visual before client-facing use, particularly any image containing text or recognizable people
- Gamma stores your decks in the cloud — verify your firm's data-handling policy is compatible (Gamma offers SOC 2; verify against your IT/compliance review for client-data-containing decks)
- Free-tier Gamma branding appears on outputs — never use the free tier for client-facing decks; the Plus tier ($12/mo) removes branding and is the minimum acceptable tier for any advisory work
